Just finished obtaining a M.Sc. in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart. Particular focus on numerical modelling, machine learning and software engineering. Currently designing & implementing system software for robotics at Franka Emika in Munich.

Completion of semester courses on non-linear optimisation & neural networks. Hands-on experience with modern machine learning frameworks. Application of bayesian-, generative and discriminative modelling in various projects. Examples include uncertainty quantification for image segmentation in earth observation and time-series regression for wind forecasting.

Hands-on experience in developing embedded firmware for the multiMIND payload at Thales Alenia Space and the robotic ROACH2 research rover. Successful deployment of image classifiers for manufacturing quality control, design of database APIs in Javascript and Python for domain-based system modelling and mechanical integration testing of solar array assemblies.

Experience

Software Engineer

Franka Emika, Munich Germany

Design & development of safety-critical system software for a robotic system based on a dissimilar hardware architecture.

January 2022 - Present

Master's Thesis

Thales Alenia Space, Ditzingen Germany

Analysis of in-orbit radiation effects on hardware. Design & Implementation of embedded software using a real-time operating kernel in C mitigating radiation effects on COTS hardware components for a payload computer flying on the EIVE satellite.

November 2020 - April 2021

Research Software Engineer

Institute for Avionics, Universität Stuttgart, Germany

Design of a transpiler for the EOQ2 language, as well as implementation in Python and Javascript. It is being developed for procedural generation of avionic system designs at the Institute of Aircraft Systems.

April 2020 - Juli 2020

Head of Software Division

ROACH2 project team, KSAT, Germany

Supporting the KSAT student team during the ROACH2 project. ROACH2 was a DLR/ESA REXUS experiment aiming to build a rover demonstrator that used electro-static adhesion to drive on conductive surfaces in a micro gravity environment.

November 2018 - August 2019

Bachelor's Thesis

DSI, NASA Ames Research Center, California USA

System identification of the SOFIA telescope structure to estimate in-flight image jitter. Deployment of polynomial models and neural networks based on accelerometer data. Support of the upgrade engineering team of the SOFIA project at NASA Ames Research Center.

November 2017 - May 2018

Internship

SpaceTech GmbH, Immenstaad Germany

Working on satellite integration; planning, execution and evaluation of shaker, acoustic and EMV tests. Development of computer vision pipeline, hardware and software, to control manufacturing processes. Software development in Python using OpenCV and Tensorflow; Deployment of convolutional neural networks.

May 2017 - September 2017

Internship

MTU Aero Engines AG, Munich Germany

Mandatory internship as a part of my studies. Introduction to the basics of metal processing such as using a lathe, milling machines and welding. Its purpose was to develop a better understanding of what kind of constructions are manufacturable.

September 2014 - October 2014

Motion Designer

Büro Achter April GbR, Stuttgart Germany

Creating 2D & 3D animation, editing video footage and supporting video and photography shoots.

Interests

Always seeking for new endeavours led me to become a passionate climber and highliner. I love to use the energy of nature and the great outdoors to fill up my batteries. Accompanying these activities I started filmmaking already when I was young, enjoying videography to this day.
